Storytelling is what drives Blaise Oliver's music, and working with filmmakers and other creators has allowed him to pursue his passion for both.
Growing up, Blaise was enchanted by the film music of Howard Shore and John Williams, and the video game soundtracks of Inon Zur and David Bergeaud. His first musical pursuit was piano, for which he has had valuable lessons with Tracy Linstrom and Jason Stoll. However, he found his true calling in writing music for media. After getting his Associate's degree at Victor Valley College in 2021, his music teachers Erika Collazos and Brigham Welch inspired him to pursue a B.M. in Commercial & Media Writing at Cal State Northridge.
At CSUN, Blaise took media composition lessons with Kyle Simpson. He also wrote and arranged pieces for CSUN's Studio Ensemble and Symphony Orchestra, conducted them at concerts, and recorded them at a professional studio. Now a graduate, Blaise is excited to pass on the love of music he grew up with, and to work with filmmakers and other creators in their storytelling endeavors.
